Hack Squat machines do not provide the full benefits of a hack squat done the old way and most machines change the angle to the point it does not work you correctly. When you use free weights you not only work your legs but your back and traps. We like to shrug at the top when using light weights. We prefer this to most leg workouts for most non-powerlifters. Helps conventional deadlift form and forces the lifter to keep his back straight and hips down or he/she can't perfom the lift.
