Front Squats

We like Front and Hack Squats to develope and cut up the legs in a manner that back squats can't. This give much the same result as a hack squat. This is actually what an Olympic Lifter does. Non-Olympic lifters change the hand postions from a conventional deadlift to a cross over as shown in the short clip below as it is easier and relieves the stress on your wrist. We prefer the Olympic strict form method below if you can do them this way.

From a rack with barbell upper chest height, position bar on front of the shoulders. Cross arms and place hands on top of barbell with upper arms parallel to floor. Dismount bar from rack. Descend until thighs are just past parallel. Extend knees and hips until legs are straight. Return and repeat.
